Interview with Author Deborah Palumbo!!

Today is my first interview on my very own blog!  I hope you enjoy it because we are having a great time.

Ann:  Hi Deborah!  Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

Deborah Palumbo: Thanks for having me today Ann and congratulations on your new blog!  I'm really glad to be here; I love chewing the fat and getting to know people. I'm always hopeful to find a new fan and friend. So, what can I start off saying?

Well, I am a self-published author with 9 books available in eBook and paperback exclusively on Amazon. I write Paranormal, Mystery and Historical novels. People often ask me how I'm able to write in different genres and I say, "Life isn't just one genre."

I also wrote a screenplay with acclaimed actor/writer Jordan Rhodes which is my claim to fame. LOL. I loved the experience of screen writing especially with Jordan, but my true and first love is writing novels.

Ann: Thank you.  I read your interview with Jordan Rhodes on your blog and LOVED it.  I hope I can do as well.   How long have you been a professional writer, and how did you get started in your professional writing career?

Deborah Palumbo: I've wanted to write novels ever since I was a little girl; it's just something innate. I started out at age 7 through 18 writing poetry for God. It wasn't until I was stricken with a debilitating illness that I began writing novels, and that was around 1990.  In 2010  I dusted off those files and decided to self-publish in 2012.   Anyway, it was a long journey to get here but I sure am glad I'm back writing novels.

Ann: Is there any specific inspiration in your life that you use to affect your writing? How do you get started on a new project?

Deborah Palumbo: An idea just literally "pops" into my head; it could be something as simple as one word that produces an entire novel for me!

Ann: Tell us about your newest project(s). Do you have any specific goals for your writing?

Deborah: Well, I just published my newest paranormal novel The Banished One which is book 3 in The Undeparted series.  Now I am onto book 2 in my crime noir series, The Detective McAllister series.

Ann: Do you listen to music as you write? If yes, what type; if no, is there a reason?

Deborah Palumbo: No, I need to have it quiet and be alone with my thoughts and ideas and the with the voices of the characters.

Ann: Is there anything else you'd like readers to know about you?
Deborah Palumbo: Actually I'd like to let everyone know I started a new blog called MERGE, just the best damn blogs on the planet.  It's a place for authors and bloggers to advertise their blogs for free, gain new followers and fans, make new friends, discuss their books and reviews.

Ann: That sounds great!  Where can I go to join up?

Deborah Palumbo: http://deborahpalumbomergeurblog.blogspot.com/ I'd love to see you there, Ann!

Ann: I'm there!  Now how about telling us about your latest novel in The Undeparted series?

Deborah Palumbo: Before I tell everyone about The Banished One, I'd like to first tell everyone about  the main characters in The Undeparted series:  QUENTIN, the father of all vampires who is in an emotional transition, the beautiful and once mortal CASSANDRA, Quentin's sidekick since the 1200's, the sexy and mean spirited CHRISTIAN, and the vicious and evil and always lustful, LUCIUS.

Now onto The Banished One.  Love, murder, sex and VAMPIRES.  (For 18+)

A sleepy little town has a secret: there's a serial killer vampire on the loose.

Lucius, is still wreaking havoc on the sleepy town in Tower City, and since he's supernatural he can't be captured by normal police procedure.

A frustrated Lieutenant Welby refuses to believe that the one responsible for those dead bodies in his town, is a vampire; that defies logic. There's got to be another explanation for those fang marks in the victims' throats.

Welby remains a staunch disbeliever in vampires until a series of preternatural events and the coroner's scientific evidence causes him to change his mind. Welby then follows the old town rumors right to Quentin, the father of all vampires and his gothic castle to enlist Quentin's supernatural aid in capturing Lucius.

Will Quentin, the only one who can stop Lucius' vampire tirades, help the Lieutenant or make him one of The Undeparted?

Will Quentin battle Lucius and send Lucius to the bowels of hell for eternity, finally ensuring that Cassandra is safe from her old beau? Will the old coal mining town be safe at last?
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did and falls in love with the series! Thanks everyone for letting me chew your ear off for a few minutes! And please remember I write Mystery novels too, you know, with frustrated detectives who are hot on the trail of some killer, and I write historical romance 'cause everyone loves romance!

Ann: Wow! I'm glad I'm over 18! =D

Deborah Palumbo:Thanks one and all and thank you Ann, for this opportunity!

Ann: It was my pleasure.  I hope to have you back again some time not to distant future.  In the meantime, all those interesting people that are reading this can learn more about you and your books at the following links.
