Hello everyone! I have officially started a blog. Now there will be no living with me...LOL I won't be able to blog every day, but plan to make it at least a weekly thing. I'm on the lookout for authors to interview, upcoming events, tips, hints and ideas to get the creative juices flowing!!
I hope that this will be an enjoyable experience for us all. Feedback is greatly appreciated! This introduction post won't be very long, but I will have more ready by Wednesday when I have my Celebration Giveaway Party on Facebook.

ReplyDeleteWhat writing is to me... Well, I think mostly it is a way to focus all of the random thoughts that run through my mind on a daily basis. Literacy has always been important to me. I learned to appreciate books and the unlimited imagination within the human mind.
"Literacy is the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate and compute, using printed and written materials associated with varying contexts. Literacy involves a continuum of learning in enabling individuals to achieve their goals, to develop their knowledge and potential, and to participate fully in their community and wider society." -- sorry I don't know who it is a quote from yet.
One of my goals is to nurture literacy in people of all ages. There are many people who already have a love for reading, like I do. There are also many people who would love to read. I believe that if you find something that catches the interest of someone,, that idea or object sparks the inner passion of the reader. With as many different people, different interests, different learning styles and different writing styles, it is just a matter of finding the right fit. That can be the most difficult task of all.
While I am not able to fill that for everyone, I will do my best to provide anyone who reads my blog with a wide assortment of books, authors, genres, ideas, and links. I LOVE feedback. If you find something that you like, let me know. If you find something wrong, let me know that too.
All writers, whether just learning their alphabet of a best selling author, can improve. No one is perfect. So, everyone can get better. While not everyone is cut out to be a great writer, everyone can be a better writer.
I hope that, through this blog and my other writing projects, I will improve my own writing and possibly help and encourage others -- everyone must start somewhere. This is one step of my journey, and I hope that others will join me.
Several other authors have already agreed to let me pick their minds through interviews, and I am extremely excited!! (especially if I can get my blog to work with me... LOL) As I post those interviews and my other random thoughts, I hope that you enjoy yourselves as much as I am.
