The Haunted Story: Dead Letter
Antony M. Copeland

When the neighbours complain about the smell, the manager unlocks the apartment to have a look around.

What he finds is utterly horrifying.

While waiting for the police to arrive, he notices a letter pinned to the gruesome contraption that holds a body strapped to it.

Desperate for an explanation, he reads it.

Review

The Haunted Story: Dead Letter is an amazingly powerful, though short introduction to what I expect to be an amazing series. Horrifically spell-binding, Copeland captivates his reader with ease. The questions it stirs in the mind make you recoil and turn the page to learn more. I am certainly looking forward to reading the next, and longer, installment. I'm just glad he's already working on it!

About the Author

Antony M. Copeland lives in Dalton, in the North-West of England. He's the lead admin of the popular Facebook group, Creative Writers and has learned a lot from the experience. In October 2017 he spoke with a very successful self-published author and decided to take the plunge himself.

He writes Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Ghost stories, and often reveals the depressing and macabre aspects of life. Even the most innocent and cheerful characters are not immune from life's harsh sting in his books.

He describes himself as a geek-goth and loves to read, watch and play his favoured genres as much as he loves to write them. Just don't get him started on zombies!

Great research also
This is one of the goriest, most visceral stories I've read. Makes the hairs on your neck stand. Only other story that made me feel that way was Stephen King's, The Raft where someone was pulled through the cracks of a raft. Anthony Copeland gives a detailed description of his death machine's purpose and it makes you want to run far, far away.
Great research also. I recommend it to lovers of horror. Nice read on a Friday The 13th!

The Goal is to Be a Ghost
I'm glad I downloaded this in time for Halloween!
The story is written entirely as a letter from the main character/narrator to whoever so happens to pick it up. It made me happy to see that the narrator shares much of the same sentiments about ghosts and the afterlife as I do, and the writing is smooth enough to make this an easy read. My only complaint is that there is a bit too much detail about the different notebooks he kept for his research and the various histories and lore that he studied when there should be more detail about his actual death or even what he plans to do after he achieves his goal and becomes a ghost. Alas, the narrator probably didn't think that part through, making the story all the more tragic.
I am excited for part two! Whether it will be a continuation of this character's journey or if the machine will claim another victim, I am sure it will be a juicy read.

A brilliant, short witty story
I was amused by the whole ghost story. I wanted more of it, but it's only a letter. I imagined mydelf finding a letter like this for real in an attic or some hidden place. I'm glad I read it and I'd like to know what happens next. This story will entertain anybody who finds curiousity in mystery. The author is dynamic, the story was well explained and I can't wait to read more from him.

Fine piece of short horror
Wow. A powerful piece of writing. Starts out slow and descriptive, but the ending...geesh! Reminded me of other fine short horror pieces, where as you read you delve deeper into a sick and twisted mind. I look forward to more stories from you!

An easy to read guide for not just first time fiction writers, but for experienced authors also. Great
freebies that go with the book, as well as links to tools of the writing trade. Good examples and
clear explanations of fixing plot holes.

The author points out that just knowing what the plot problem is was not enough to fix the problem.
Knowing what caused the plot problem is key to fixing the problem. The book then walks you
through the common mistakes (plot holes) of writing a fiction book and how to correct these mistakes.

This book is a great resource for problem solving for writers!

A toolkit for the swerving writer

Ann Snizek provides a comprehensive toolkit for writers trying to fix their plot holes (potholes).

Not only is her description clear amd comprehensive but she provides actual tips you can implement
now to improve your writing. Her stories illustrate key points without getting too fluffy.

There are some neat writing resources in the book too, which I look forward to trying out with my
classes.

The best thing about Snizek's book is the way she shows you how to cheat the common causes of
plot holes and thus make your writing even more engaging. It's an awesome and unexpected writing
hack, that's for sure.

A great help in defining, refining and streamlining a plot that makes sense.

As you get into the book you find yourself thinking "I knew that!", then you realise that you didn't,
but should have known it because it makes sense, and that's why it seemed familiar.

Lots of pointers which had my mind searching through some plots I have drafted; I found several
places I will be able to improve thanks to this book. It's offers a great way to get thoughts organised
so one doesn't fall into the holes, or how to get out of them and fill them in if you already did.
The links provided are also extremely helpful.

I read through the book twice in one sitting, then again the next day. I will be using it on a regular basis.
