A to Z: Events

  Vents!!!
YAY! I'm so excited and hope to attend or at least have my books attend some events this coming year. I really want to get out there as much as possible.

One of my biggest goals is to market to libraries... school and public libraries. I grew up addicted to the library. I still am, only now I have enough books to stock a small, private school library on my own. LOL
As an active volunteer at our local adult learning center, literacy is very important to me. I'm a certified ProLiteracy tutor, I facilitate a writing club, and serve on the Advisory Board. It's amazing to see the spark of excitement in a person's eyes when they find a book they enjoy. It's a joy I share each time I find a new book or when someone likes my books!

I don't think its something I'll ever grow out of... I certainly hope not.

Anyway, the BEA is obviously huge and on my bucket list at least once! I'm sure that I'll have to participate virturally at first, but eventually I want to be able to be there in person and absorb all the creativity and passion of all the book minded people concentrated in one place.

Events don't have to be huge though. I know how it is for many people to get to the bigger events. Book lovers are everywhere. So, I want to attend many of varying sizes.

Many events and festivals last several days, others are only one day. I don't want to forget places that support indie authors.... Those cozy, adorable indie book stores with little coffee shops or delis inside. You know the ones I mean. They have a warm, worn feel that makes you just want to cuddle up with that good book and sip your drink and escape into those pages that call to you from inside that well loved binding.

As far as virtual events go, I'm booking my own blog tour for To Eris - Human, and while I'd prefer wall to wall reviews (what author wouldn't), I am very happy with promo spots, excerpts, interviews, whatever. I want to share my book and get to know fans as well as other bloggers. I'm also excited to announce that I've set up a Goodreads Giveaway to coincide with the tour! FIVE SIGNED PAPERBACKS! In addition to that, as if it wasn't enough, I've submitted my book to Kirkus!!! And the review is due back on or before July 13th. The tour is July 13-18. I'm looking for multiple posts on each day. So, don't worry about it being filled. The sign up form is HERE. If you have a blog, I hope to see you sign up and if you don't, I hope you'll follow the tour and join in with comments and questions.

Here are 3 more blogs that I just discovered during my challenge. I've added them to my "watch" list.
I'm going to put all of these blogs in a gadget soon and add to it as my challenge continues.

  1. Doodles, Doodles, Everywhere - Love this site! Great personality and energy comes through!
  2. Love, Life & Book Lust - Recently moved site that looks great. I'm looking forward to it.
  3. Words We Heart - A very fresh looking site. Love the personality behind it!

OH!!! If you know of an AWESOME blog that I just HAVE to check out, let me know!!!
